Rather than elaborating possibiliites , here is what i think might be happening
a) In the Next election ,the Congress led UDF might come to power in
Kerala.
b) Muslim League ( A secular party ! - how can it be ? ) is the second biggest
block after the Congress and Education Portfolio might go to them.
c) Bishops want Kerala Congress faction to come together and become the
second dominant partner in the coailation and get the Ministry of Education.
d) Poor congress wallahs will be on the "recieving" end as coailation partners
will demand more than 50% seats.
The real battle is between the people who follow the Cross and the people who follow the Crescent. The loser is going to be the Congress party as these coailition partners will become dominant.
It is "minority" politics biting back the Congress.
I think "Nuetral" citizens of kerala should give a surprise to these Bishops by bringing LDF back to the power.

I don't agree to your view point. In the next election Congress alone will be in a position to run the government, just like CPM alone are in a position to run the current government.
The coalition politics in Kerala will come to an end very soon as people are giving clear mandate in favor of the largest party in the front be it CPM or Congress.
It's not the 'minority politics' that is biting back, but the 'coalition politics'. Whatever the reason is (be it religion, region etc.) the coalition parties have always demanded for their fair share in the national and regional politics. And it is not considered as 'biting back' in the political circles as these are all expected when an electoral win is on the card. And it is not just Congress, but also the majority appeasing BJP who also had to face the bitter sweet coalition politics when they were forming the coalition under the NDA banner. :-)
LDF won't be back again as the malayalees had a nice time for last 5 yrs. Thanks to Achu mama n pinarayi team for their fantastic performance.
Kerala congress and Catholic Bishops are pioneers with clear vision (agenda:-))like pinarayi. pinarayi dreamed to get the control of catholic institutions from church to CPM. But bishops backlashed his plan by creating powerful pastoral letters aka 'Edaya Lekhanam'. Kerala congress is just a device to bargain with congress after the great victory of 2011.kerala congress will gain good number of MLA's with the support of pastoral letter.
No need to throw stones at Bishops. even sndp,nair samagam, muslim organizations shitting the same. They use another way of communication to substitute pastoral letter.
Guys don't you reckon the dangerous fact of increasing influence of these religious leaders in state politics and state administration.
